One of my all-time favourite violin concertos is by the 20th Century Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. The work premiered in 1923 with the Paris Opera.
The music is very ethereal and requires great skill by the performer. Hearing this music is always a sublime experience for me.
Please enjoy this performance on YouTube by the Georgian violinist Lisa Batiashvili recorded in 2009. Lisa is playing a Stradivarius violin made in 1709 (according to Wikipedia!)
Even if you think you don’t like “classical music” I am sure you will enjoy this music.
1st Movement – Andantino – Andante assai
2nd Movement – Scherzo (Vivacissimo)
3rd Movement – Finale. Moderato
