- 2 tablespoons butter. This is about a 2 cm slice from a block of butter (60 grams)
- 1 cup castor sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 mashed bananas
- 1.5 cups self Raising flour
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 2 tablespoons milk.

Cream the sugar and softened butter.
Add egg, then mashed bananas, one at a time and mix well.
Add the sifted flour gradually and mix well, then add the milk in which the bicarbonate of soda has been dissolved.
Add the chocolate chips and mix well.
Place the mixture in an baking tin which has been lined with baking paper. Place pecan nuts on the mixture (neatly in a row!).
Bake in a moderate oven (around 180 deg C) for approximately 45 – 55 minutes.
